The City of Young Harris now offers the option for residents to receive text messages about emergencies and upcoming events.
To opt-in for notifications, follow these steps:
For City-wide Emergency Notifications (including water alerts for those who receive city water), text "YOUNG HARRIS ALERTS" to 91896.
For City-wide Events Notifications (for upcoming events in the downtown area), text "YOUNG HARRIS EVENTS" to 91896.
What to Expect:
After the initial keyword is sent, you will receive a confirmation message asking you to reply YES to verify opt-in.
You may receive multiple text messages each month for the alerts you've opted into.
You can text STOP at any time to remove yourself for ALL notification groups.
